In Number the Stars, we meet many different people and visit many interesting places. Some of the people are real, and some are fictional. (Remember the genre Historical Fiction is a story/novel which is based in a real place during a real time period, but has fictional characters, usually as main characters.) On this page, we investigate the real people and the places found in the novel. I have posted links to some of the pictures so that you may easily research those places further. This information will be useful in beginning certain group projects, as well as the scrapbook option for individuals. Check for the links on the home page.

This is a listing of vocabulary words found in Number the Stars; the first 5 words are words that are critical to our understanding of the time period. The remaining words are words that are cross-referenced to other major tests, such as the ARMT or SAT; these words from the novel. Be certain to read the word as it is used in the novel to make certain that your definition matches that context. This list may be used as a reference as we read, as study guide for our novel test, or for use in a group project. Be sure to visit the Quizlet link below to study with virtual flashcards and practice with study games.
